On the heels of CITESCoP18 and the United Nations General Assembly, African Symposium’s Inaugural Forum on Wildlife Conservation in Africa will take place on World Animal Day and in line with SDG 15.7.1. The forum will especially focus on opportunities for the African Diaspora community and friends to play a more active, engaged and visible role. As a result of this gathering, we also aim to derive a best-practice guide that will help attendees make responsible and informed choices in protecting our planet and its inhabitants.
Since October 4, 1925, World Animal Day is celebrated annually to mobilize people for action for a better future for animals. October 4 is also celebrated as the day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology & animals.
